Bangladesh Women had a difficult start after being asked to bat first. Openers Murshida Khatun and Sharmin Sultana were dismissed early, putting pressure on the middle order. However, Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter helped Bangladesh recover with important half-centuries. Sharmin Akhter scored 50 runs off 93 balls, while Shorna Akter contributed 54 runs off 71 deliveries. Despite the contributions from Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter, Bangladesh could not maintain their momentum and were bowled out for 172 in 19.5 overs.
Australia's bowlers played a crucial role in restricting Bangladesh to a low total. Megan Schutt was named the Player of the Match for the 3rd ODI, taking four wickets and putting the Bangladesh batters under pressure. Australia Women made a steady start to their chase. Georgia Voll scored 11 runs, while Beth Mooney contributed 21 before being dismissed by Disha Biswas. However, the early wickets did not cause much trouble for Australia, as Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland took control of the innings.
