India crushed Namibia by 93 runs in their Group A clash at New Delhi on Thursday. However, the night belonged to India’s dynamic all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who delivered a complete performance with both bat and ball to power India to a comprehensive victory. Hardik turned the momentum decisively in India’s favour with a blistering 52 off 28 deliveries. His innings included four boundaries and four sixes. While Hardik provided the late boost, it was Ishan Kishan who set the stage ablaze earlier in the innings after unleashing an extraordinary assault, hammering 61 runs off 24 balls.

However, Hardik was not done. Returning with the ball, he delivered an impactful spell, finishing with figures of 2/21 from his four overs. India’s bowlers collectively tightened the screws, but it was Hardik’s all-round contribution that stood out, earning him Player of the Match. After the game, Ishan and Pandya shared light-hearted moments praising each other. Notably, Ishan Kishan, after more than two years without a century in India colours, delivered a statement knock that lit up the fifth and final T20I against New Zealand in Thiruvananthapuram last month.

The dynamic left-hander smashed his maiden T20I hundred, reaching the landmark in 42 deliveries in a breathtaking display of power-hitting. What truly became the talking point was Hardik Pandya’s reaction when Ishan reached the three-figure mark. Hardik's exuberance reflected pride and camaraderie between both players. Meanwhile, after Namibia's match, Kishan thanked Pandya for instilling confidence in him during his time on the sidelines.

“I am usually not the kind of person who will keep quiet, but because I was in touch with him, and he was like, ‘It’s up to you whether you want to talk to somebody about it or go negative about it. It is in your hand.’ And that was playing cricket and scoring runs. And doing well in whichever tournaments I was playing in. Credit also goes to him,” Ishan said in a video uploaded by the BCCI.

Hardik Pandya applauded Ishan's hundred and highlighted the hard work he did behind the scenes.

“It was a breathtaking hundred. The rhythm in which you scored it, the way the ball left your bat, I was extremely happy. For the last two years, you have worked really hard behind the scenes, kept quiet. Even when the opportunity did not come, you were still smiling, keeping the spirit high and working hard," Pandya said.

“Hard work is supposed to happen when no one is watching. And that is the actual benefit. No matter what happens in life, don’t be a crybaby. Get up in the morning, work hard, put your head down and sleep. Again, repeat it. He has taken the torch, responded with the bat, and I am really proud of it," he added.
