George Linde has been signed by Lucknow Super Giants as a replacement for the injured Wanindu Hasaranga in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026. Earlier, LSG were dealt a major setback after Hasaranga was ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury sustained during Sri Lanka’s opening match of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The leg-spinning all-rounder, who had been picked up for ₹2 crore in the IPL 2026 auction, failed to recover in time and never joined the franchise.

LSG have brought in George Linde at his base price of ₹1 crore. Although this will be his first stint in the IPL, Linde brings extensive experience, having played over 250 T20 matches globally. Moreover, he has represented South Africa in 3 Tests, 4 ODIs, and 37 T20Is, scoring 403 runs and taking 35 wickets in T20 internationals. So far, LSG have won two out of their three games, going very well in their campaign.
