Young gun Jake Fraser-McGurk demonstrated his staggering batting prowess, slamming a breathtaking half-century off 14 balls as South Australia piled on the runs against Queensland at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide on Saturday. After blazing a half-century, he romped to a 49-ball century.

Fraser-McGurk was in aggressive form, attacking the Queensland bowling attack from the outset. He gathered 22 runs in the second over bowled by Tom Straker and 16 off Tom Whitney in the fourth over. Meanwhile, the half-century was the fastest ever in One-Day Cup history. Overall, Jake blasted 122 off 63 balls, featuring 10 boundaries and nine sixes.

This achievement also broke his previous Australian domestic one-day record of an 18-ball half-century, which he registered in 2023. South Australia captain Nathan McSweeney also scored 106 from 103 balls to power the side to 397/7 in 50 overs. McSweeney registered his third List A hundred and continued his excellent form, having smashed 123 for Australia A against India A earlier this month.
