Rubel Hossain retires from international cricket

Bangladesh pacer Rubel Hossain has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing the curtains down on a glittering career. In a social media post, Rubel confirmed his decision to say goodbye to international cricket. He made his last international appearance for Bangladesh back in April 2021 in a T20I against New Zealand in Auckland.
"I am pacer Rubel Hossain. I have played 27 Tests, 104 ODIs and 28 T20Is for Bangladesh. The national team is my passion. But at some point, I had to leave international cricket. With that in mind, I said goodbye to international cricket. However, I intend to continue playing domestic cricket. Thank you to my family, friends, media personnel and fans. I believe that you will continue to support me for the rest of my life," Rubel wrote on his social media account.
Rubel, who played 27 Tests, 104 ODIs and 28 T20Is, caps off his international career with 36 wickets in Tests, 129 in ODIs and 28 wickets in T20Is. His memorable performance was against New Zealand in the second ODI of the three-match series in 2013, where he returned with the figures of 6/26 to help Bangladesh clinch a 43-run win.
