Rajasthan Royals' captain Riyan Parag has been fined 25% of his match fee and handed one demerit point after being caught using a vape inside the Rajasthan Royals dressing room. The incident occurred during Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Punjab Kings in New Chandigarh. During Rajasthan Royals’ challenging chase of a daunting 222-run target, cameras reportedly captured Parag using a vape. Following a review of the footage, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) charged Parag with a Level 1 offence under the IPL Code of Conduct.

"Riyan Parag, Captain, Rajasthan Royals, has been fined 25% of his match fee and has also accumulated one Demerit Point for breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during Match No. 40 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Punjab Kings," the BCCI stated in a statement.

"Riyan was found to have breached Article 2.21 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which relates to “conduct that brings the game into disrepute.” The incident occurred during the second innings when Riyan was seen using a vape inside the dressing room".

Riyan Parag, on the other hand, admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by the match referee, Amit Sharma.
