Lucknow Super Giants prevailed over Royal Challengers Bengaluru by nine runs (DLS) in a high-scoring clash on Thursday in Lucknow. The match, reduced to a 19-overs-per-side match due to multiple rain interruptions, turned into a batting spectacle, with Lucknow riding on a sensational century from Mitchell Marsh to post a big total of 209/3 before surviving a spirited chase from Bengaluru.

After being asked to bat, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a steady start, with Marsh making no mistake. The Australian all-rounder hammered a breathtaking 111 off 56 deliveries. Marsh first stitched together a 95-run partnership with opener Arshin Kulkarni, who chipped in with 17 runs.

He then combined with Nicholas Pooran, adding another 70 runs to maintain the scoring momentum. Pooran played an aggressive cameo of 38 runs from 21 balls. Later, Rishabh Pant provided the finishing flourish with an explosive unbeaten 32 off 10 balls.

Chasing the target, Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered an early setback when both openers departed cheaply. Jacob Bethell managed only four runs, while star batter Virat Kohli was dismissed for a duck. Still, Bengaluru fought back through Devdutt Padikkal and captain Rajat Patidar, who both scored 34 and 61, respectively. Tim David blasted 40 runs off 17 balls, reigniting Bengaluru’s hopes, but LSG held their nerve to seal the victory. RCB finished at 203/6 in 19 overs.
