Lucknow Super Giants finally broke their six-match losing streak by registering a nine-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a rain-interrupted showdown on Thursday in Lucknow. The success was largely built around Mitchell Marsh's match-winning century, featuring nine sixes and nine fours. Marsh delivered when it mattered the most, hitting 111 off 56 to keep LSG's playoff hopes alive. After the win, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant expressed his delight over the team's fabulous win that has revived their campaign.

"Definitely, for the whole team it means a lot. We have been trying lot of things. Coming to the same page means a lot for us. Because we were looking for this. It's been a tough season, but sometimes you have to go through the grind," Pant said at the post-match presentation.

"Definitely, we were trying to put together a perfect game where batting and bowling come together. There has been some good luck and some bad luck, but at the same time, really happy to have a win," Pant said.

Pant explained the decision to hand the ball to Digvesh Rathi to defend 20 runs in the final over.

"It was a tough call. We were under pressure. But at the same time you are going to trust your bowler. Rathi was the right matchup for (Romario) Shepherd. He trusted himself and got the job done for the team," he said.

Pant also praised Marsh for his spectacular knock that totally changed the course of their campaign.

"Unbelievable. We know that as a team we've been grinding hard. The players were looking good. Everything was not coming together for us. It was an amazing batting to turn things around for us," Pant added.
