KKR's all-round brilliance crushes DC

Carrying on with their splendid form, Kolkata Knight Riders came out with a commanding all-round performance to outclass Delhi Capitals by eight wickets on Friday in Delhi, with Finn Allen (100* off 47) blasting a stunning century. Chasing a modest target of 143, KKR hunted down the target pretty easily, reaching the finish line in 14.2 overs.
Their chase began on a shaky note after skipper Ajinkya Rahane and young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi departed early. However, Finn Allen and Cameron Green took complete control of the innings with a composed partnership. Allen was at his explosive best, smashing a breathtaking century. At the other end, Green played a key role with 33 unbeaten runs.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals struggled to build momentum after being asked to bat first. The innings started brightly, with KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka adding 49 runs quickly, putting pressure on the KKR bowlers during the powerplay.
Rahul contributed 23 runs before losing his wicket. Nissanka, however, continued to impress with a confident knock, bringing up a well-deserved half-century. The Sri Lankan batter scored 50 runs off 29 balls. But once Nissanka was dismissed, Delhi’s innings lost direction completely. The middle order failed to capitalise on the strong start, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Ashutosh Sharma tried to revive the innings with a fighting 39, but he received little support from the other end as DC were restricted to 142/8 in 20 overs.
