SRH captain Pat Cummins slapped with fine

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has been handed a fine of Rs 12 lakh by the Indian Premier League for maintaining a slow-over rate during the side's clash against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
"Pat Cummins, Captain, Sunrisers Hyderabad, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during Match No. 56 of TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad," the IPL said in a statement.
"As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Cummins was fined INR 12 lakhs."
Talking about the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a crushing 82-run loss after being dismissed for 86, their lowest total in the IPL. Chasing a target of 169, SRH got off to a torrid start, losing top three batters Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in quick succession. Surprisingly, there was no fightback from SRH, with players like Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy succumbing to the pressure.
