Ireland name squad for historic Test against New Zealand
Ireland have revealed their squad for the upcoming one-off Test against New Zealand, set to take place from 27 to 30 May at Stormont in Belfast. Veteran batter Andrew Balbirnie will captain the side, leading Ireland in the longest format for the 10th time.
However, the Ireland squad has been hit by several injury setbacks ahead of the match. Key players Paul Stirling, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little, Gavin Hoey, and Jordan Neill have all been ruled out due to fitness concerns. Ireland, meanwhile, have included four uncapped players who could make their Test debuts during the match.
Jake Egan, Tom Mayes, Liam McCarthy, and Reuben Wilson have all earned places in the squad after impressive performances in domestic cricket.
