Marsh to miss LSG's clash against PBKS

Lucknow Super Giants are reportedly set to take the field without Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh in their final league-stage match of IPL 2026 against Punjab Kings. The match, scheduled at Lucknow’s home ground, carries huge significance for PBKS, who need to win this match to stay alive in the playoff race. Notably, Marsh has been in tremendous form this season, slamming 563 runs in 13 matches at an average of 43.30 and a strike rate of 163.18, including one century and three half-centuries.
For LSG, however, the match has little impact on their campaign, with the side already out of contention. According to ESPNcricinfo, Marsh has departed from the LSG camp ahead of the game; however, the franchise has not disclosed the reason behind his absence. His absence is a big blow for LSG because the team was already forced to cope without South African batter Aiden Markram in their previous outing against Rajasthan Royals.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant had earlier confirmed that Markram returned home due to personal commitments. Their absence could hand Punjab Kings a major advantage as they enter the clash with everything to play for.
