England's second innings was crucial in shaping the outcome of the match, with Emilio Gay leading the way with a composed 57. Jamie Smith chipped in with 39 runs. Although New Zealand’s bowlers continued to find success and dismissed England for 226. With the scoring from Emilio Gay and Jamie Smith, England set a challenging target of 254. In reply, New Zealand struggled to build partnerships. Devon Conway showed resilience with 41, and Phillips battled hard, remaining unbeaten on 44 but New Zealand were bowled out for 138.
