Sourav Ganguly, Kevin Pietersen and Anjum Chopra inducted into ICC Hall of Fame

Sourav Ganguly, Kevin Pietersen, and Anjum Chopra have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. The announcement was made during a special ceremony in Edinburgh, recognising the outstanding contributions the trio made to the game. A highly respected figure, Ganguly had a successful international career, representing India in 113 Test matches and amassing 7,212 runs at an average of 42.17. In ODIs, he played 311 matches and scored 11,363 runs with an average of 41.02. 

England's Kevin Pietersen also earned a place among cricket's all-time greats. Pietersen played 104 Test matches and scored 8,181 runs at an impressive average of 47.28. He scored 4,440 runs in 136 ODIs. He featured in 37 T20Is as well, notching up 1001 runs. 

On the other hand, Anjum Chopra, making her international debut in 1995, was the first Indian woman cricketer to score 1,000 runs in ODIs and the first to feature in 100 ODI matches. Across 127 ODIs, she scored 2,856 runs and played a significant role in India's campaigns during the 2000 and 2005 Women's Cricket World Cups. She also played 12 Tests and 18 T20Is.

"I am delighted to welcome the latest inductees into the ICC Hall of Fame, a tribute to the extraordinary individuals whose achievements have contributed greatly to our sport. This year's inductees represent the highest standards of excellence, and each one of them has earned the admiration of fans around the world," ICC Chairman Jay Shah said in an ICC release.

"Sourav, Anjum and Kevin have all led their national teams with pride, and I would like to congratulate them on behalf of the ICC for this richly deserved honour. 

"Their place in the ICC Hall of Fame ensures their achievements will be celebrated for generations to come, standing alongside the game's greatest figures.”
