Kohli, Rohit achieve massive record, become first Indian pair to play 400 matches

Indian iconic duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have achieved massive milestones in their highly decorated careers, becoming the only Indian players to appear in 400 international matches together. The duo accomplished the historic feat during the third and final ODI against England on Sunday at Lord's. Notably, both stars have retired from Test and T20I cricket, keeping themselves active in only ODIs.
"Another massive feat for an iconic duo. #TeamIndia greats Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli become the first Indian pair to play international matches together, " BCCI wrote in an X post.
Though India lost the final ODI by 27 runs to make way for England to win the series, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli slammed breathtaking knocks, blazing 138 and 77 respectively. With the century, Rohit also became the first Indian player to score an ODI hundred at Lord's.
Overall, Virat Kohli has represented India in 562 matches across all formats, racking up 28285 international runs. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has played 514 international matches, accumulating 20289 runs. And, together, the legendary duo have amassed 48,574 international runs. Over the past many years, they both have led India’s batting, playing their greater roles in major title victories.
