After making his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a series of mind-blowing performances, the teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was drafted into India's senior men's squad for the T20I tours of Ireland and England. The batting prodigy Sooryavanshi did not feature in India's two-match series against Ireland, thus missing out on his India debut. 

However, he got the opportunity to make his India debut during the second T20I against England, becoming India's youngest-ever international cricketer and breaking legendary Sachin Tendulkar's record. During the five-match series against England, Sooryavanshi featured in three games (2nd, 3rd and 4th), registering underwhelming outings with low scores of 14, 13 and 15, respectively. 

Nonetheless, Sooryavanshi once again has a chance to leave past results behind and come out with renewed confidence in India's upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe that begins on Thursday in Harare. Meanwhile, ahead of the first T20I, Sooryavanshi admitted that he has encountered ups and downs over the past four months.  

“In the last four months, there have been ups and downs, but that's part of cricket and life. Ups and downs will keep happening. I just have to follow the process and give 100% for the team,” Sooryavanshi said in a video posted by BCCI.

.Notably, Sooryavanshi played a key role in India's victory at the U-19 World Cup earlier this year in February, blazing an exceptional knock of 175 off 80 balls in the final against England in Harare.

“We are currently in Harare. It is a very memorable ground for me. Four months ago, we played the U-19 World Cup here and won it, so it's a very special ground. Representing India is everybody’s dream, and it's a very special moment to return and play on such a nice ground where we created history four months back. It's a great feeling, so we will enjoy it,” he said.
