Vaibhav Sooryavanshi named vice-captain of East Zone squad
The East Zone squad for Duleep Trophy has been announced, with Ishan Kishan set to lead the side. The 15-member squad also includes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who will serve as the vice-captain of the side. The teen prodigy is coming off a fruitful series against Zimbabwe where he was named the Player of the Series, pummelling 151 runs across the three matches.
Recently, he made his India debut on UK tour. He did not feature in the Ireland series but was given opportunity in the England series, becoming the youngest-ever Indian to play international cricket, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.
Meanwhile, the squad also includes Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar. The tournament will begin on August 23 in Bengaluru.
