Bangladesh name squad for Asia Cup and Asian Games

Bangladesh have unveiled a powerful squad for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 in Dubai and the 20th Asian Games in Japan. The team will be led by Nigar Sultana, who remains a massive figure for the side after guiding the team during their recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. 

Experienced spinner Nahida Akter has been appointed vice-captain. The squad also includes several familiar names alongside a few newbies. players looking to establish themselves on the international stage. Sarmin Sultana is a notable inclusion after earning her T20I debut in May this year. 

The top-order batter already has considerable experience in the longer white-ball format, having represented Bangladesh in 16 ODIs. Bangladesh have also retained Sobhana Mostary and Juairiya Ferdous, both of whom featured in the top order during the Women’s T20 World Cup.
