Sam Curran’s Test comeback delayed by groin injury

England all-rounder Sam Curran has suffered a big setback in his bid to return to Test cricket after being ruled out for the rest of England’s home international schedule. The England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that Curran “has been assessed for a groin injury and will undergo surgery on Friday."
Curran’s most recent appearance for England was during the home series against India. He was quite effective with the ball, ending the T20I and ODI series as England’s leading wicket-taker. England are also keeping a close eye on another all-rounder, Will Jacks. Jacks has recently undergone surgery after suffering from appendicitis and is currently recovering from the procedure.
The England camp also asserted that his progress will be assessed before a decision is made on whether he can take part in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
