IND vs WI, 5th T20I: Match called off due to relentless rain

Persistent rain has forced the fifth T20I between India and West Indies to be called off without a result in Bengaluru on Saturday. The match had already witnessed a lengthy interruption due to incessant rain. And in light of that, the game was reduced to nine overs per side.
India, after being asked to bat, lost Abhishek Sharma early in the innings, but Ishan Kishan came out aggressively, playing a major knock of 30 off 10 that put the West Indian bowlers under pressure. Captain Shreyas Iyer also made a useful contribution, scoring 22 runs.
With these contributions, India had reached 111/8 in 7.4 overs when rain returned to disrupt the proceedings. The fresh spell of rain didn’t relent, forcing the match officials to call off the proceedings. With no result in the final game, India and West Indies shared the trophy, having won two games each in the five-match series.
