Australia crashed to a disastrous 176-run defeat in the third and final Test against South Africa at Newlands on Saturday. Entering the final day with a target of 288 to achieve, Australia endured a horror day, with South Africa bowlers unleashing a ruthless performance and bowling Australia out for 111 and completing the victory well before the tea interval.

Harmer was the dangerous man for Australian batters to tackle after claimed six wickets for 16 runs in the second innings. His outstanding spell brought him a maiden 10-wicket haul in Test cricket, having already taken four wickets for 104 runs in Australia's first innings.

Kagiso Rabada also played a massive role in putting Australia under pressure with his three wickets. He became the fastest bowler to 350 Test wickets. Australia's downfall started after they lost Matt Renshaw and Marnus Labuschagne in the opening over, and from there they never really recovered. Pat Cummins' 11 off 90 and Nathan Lyon's unbeaten 33 gave Australia little hope for a draw, but South Africa were adamant in their efforts to finish with a win. Meanwhile, the victory also takes South Africa to the No.1 spot on the ICC rankings.
