Bangladesh off-spinner Aliss Al Islam has been reported for a suspect bowling action following the ODI tri-series clash against Afghanistan in Sharjah on Wednesday. It all happened on Aliss’s debut in the 50-over format. Now, as per the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) regulations, Aliss will undergo an independent assessment at an ICC-accredited testing facility.

The ICC permits bowlers to extend their elbows by up to 15 degrees while delivering the ball. Meanwhile, until the outcome of Aliss’s assessment is available, he will be permitted to bowl in international matches.

“The off-spinner will undergo an Independent Assessment of his bowling action at an ICC Accredited Testing Centre in accordance with the ICC Illegal Bowling Action Regulations,” ICC said.

Notably, this is not the first time that Aliss has faced scrutiny over the legality of his bowling action. Back in 2019 as well, he was reported when he made headlines by claiming a hat-trick on his T20 debut in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
