Chennai Super Kings have confirmed the appointment of highly experienced Albie Morkel and Gareth Batty as assistant coaches ahead of IPL 2027. CSK have also named former Indian pacer Mohit Sharma as the side’s bowling coach.

Morne Morkel, who represented CSK in 92 matches, played a key role in the team’s back-to-back title wins in 2010 and 2011. He also serves as the head coach of Joburg Super Kings in SA20, having succeeded Stephen Fleming into the role earlier this year in July.

As for Mohit Sharma, he played for the franchise in 2014, 2015 and 2019. His debut season with the franchise was incredibly productive after he took 23 wickets in 16 matches and bagged the purple cap. Now, under a star-studded coaching staff, CSK would hope to turn the tables after enduring a disappointing campaign during the IPL 2026, where he managed to win only 6 of 14 games, suffering defeat in eight matches.
