Ireland leg-spinner Ben White has officially announced his retirement from representative cricket at the age of 28, bringing an end to his international career. White made his T20I debut against South Africa in Belfast in 2021 and went on to represent Ireland across all three formats. He earned 43 international caps, including 38 appearances in T20 cricket, and finishes his career with 41 wickets. White also represented Ireland in Test cricket three times, with all his appearances in the longest format coming in 2023. His final appearance for the national side came against Bangladesh in December 2025.

One of the major highlights of White's career was his participation in three ICC Men's T20 World Cup squads in 2021, 2024, and 2026. Reflecting on his journey, the leg-spinner expressed gratitude to Cricket Ireland for giving him the opportunity to fulfil his childhood dream of representing his country at the highest level. "I’d like to thank Cricket Ireland for giving me the opportunity to fulfil a childhood dream of representing my country and playing cricket at the highest level," White said in a statement. He added that representing Ireland at three T20 World Cups and playing Test cricket were achievements he would always be proud of, expressing his appreciation for the experiences and memories he made throughout his career.

White's retirement marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in his cricketing journey, which saw him compete on the international stage and represent Ireland in major tournaments. From making his debut in 2021 to featuring in three T20 World Cup squads, he gained valuable experience across formats and contributed to Ireland's international campaigns. Although his representative career has come to an end, White leaves behind memories of fulfilling his ambition of playing cricket for his country and competing at the highest level.
