About John Campbell

John Campbell, born in the island of Jamaica, is a powerful right-handed opening batsman and a utility off-break bowler. Campbell played for the Windies under-19 teams in the 2010 and the 2012 World Cups before plying his trade in the domestic circuit. A naturally built and aggressive opener, he grew up watching Chris Gayle bat, and emulates him in his aggressive style of play - a mirror image of sorts.

Campbell was also part of the victorious Jamaica Under-19 team in the regional championships. The Jamaican is a strong hitter of the cricket ball and has been on the fringes in terms of selection for the national team. John had a poor Under-19 World Cup in 2010 and didn't do much of notice in the 2012 edition either. He did, however, sore a hundred in the last play-off game to sign off in style.
