Axar Patel gets replaced by Washington Sundar in India’s Asia Cup squad ahead of final
Ahead of the most crucial final of the Asia Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka on Sunday, India have been handed a massive blow with the injury to star all-rounder Axar Patel who has been ruled out of the final against Sri Lanka. Washington Sundar has replaced injured Patel in India’s squad for the Asia Cup. Axar Patel had played a pivotal role in India’s match against Bangladesh where he had almost got the team over the line with his 42-run knock. However, India had lost the game by 6 runs. During that match, Axar had sustained several injuries. A BCCI statement confirmed Axar Patel’s ruling out “due to a left quadriceps strain.” India will be taking on Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup on Sunday at R. Premadasa Stadium.
