A look at team India heading into the final of the Asia Cup 2023

India are all set to play the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka on Sunday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India stormed into the final of the Asia Cup on the back of their victory against Sri Lanka in the Super Four match. Both teams will have a huge task of giving a tough fight to each other to lift the Asia Cup title. India played their last Super Four match against Bangladesh on Friday where they were handed a six-run defeat. So, India will enter the final on the back of a defeat while Sri Lanka registered their victory in their last Super Four match against Pakistan due to which they also made it to the final. Both teams will be entering the final on the back of contrasting results. Looking at the performance of both teams, they have done superbly well in the tournament so far, which is why they are playing in the final. Though, India lost their match against Bangladesh but that wouldn’t dampen their spirit to continue with their momentum. India have registered great performances from their players in the tournament and it is also interesting that all batters have stood up for the team in time of need.
India’s big guns have made the biggest impact with their roaring performances. India’s opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have been in massive form. Rohit Sharma has give huge performances as he has scored three half-centuries while accumulating 194 runs in the tournament. On the other hand, Shubman Gill has been the top run-getter in the tournament with the help of two fifties and a ton. He played a terrific knock against Bangladesh where he scored (121) runs. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul too have done wonderfully well as they both played century-laden knocks against Pakistan. Now, looking at India’s bowling attack, Indian bowlers have also been incredibly extensive in their bowling attack. Especially, India’s spin-bowling attack, led by Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, has been very impactful. Both will look to perform with same intensity in the final. India’s pace attack has too been quite economical with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj leading the attack. All in all, team India look rock solid as they prepare themselves to give a competitive fight to Sri Lanka.
