Zimbabwe Cricket suspends Wesley Madhevere and Brandon Mavuta

Zimbabwe Cricket has suspended two of its allrounders Wesley Madhevere and Brandon Mavuta over recreational drug use. Both players have been suspended with immediate effect. Both players tested positive for the banned recreational drug use. The suspension will result in their disqualification from all cricket activities. According to a statement from ZC, both players have been charged under the ZC Code of Conduct. Both players are due for a disciplinary hearing. Both the players were part of the Zimbabwe’s squad for the Ireland series. Madhevere had played in all the three T20Is while Matuva had featured in the third T20I followed by three ODIs. Madhevere made his debut for Zimbabwe in 2020. So far, he has played 36 ODIs and 60 T20Is for Zimbabwe. Mavuta, on the other hand, made his debut for Zimbabwe in 2018. He’s played 12 ODIs and 10 T20Is for the team.
