IND-W vs AUS-W 1st ODI: Australia Women thrash India Women

In a captivating clash between India Women and Australia Women, Australia Women built on their winning streak against India by beating them by six wickets on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium. The battle saw the perfect combination of skill, strategy, and determination in Mumbai, but the final laugh was enjoyed by Australia Women. Deciding to bat after winning the toss, India Women posted a total of 282 in 50 overs after losing 8 wickets. India had the top performers in the form of Jemimah Rodrigues and Pooja Vastrakar scoring 82 and 62* respectively. Opener Yastika Bhatia also scored 49 runs. Chasing the target, Australia lost their opener and skipper Alyssa Healy going for duck.
But, Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry scored 78 and 75 runs to put the side back into the game. Beth Mooney gave support with her 42 runs. Tahlia McGrath scored 68 runs to take the side over the line. The Australian bowlers and batters showcased their skill, breaking crucial partnerships and building pressure to put India under pressure. Australia lead three-match series 1-0 as both teams are scheduled to meet each other in the second game on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium.
