IND-W vs AUS-W 2nd ODI: Beleaguered India search for victory, playing XI, pitch report

Knocked down in the first game, India Women would hope to bounce back strongly when they face Australia Women in the second ODI match of the three-match series on Saturday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The cricketing powerhouses will be locking horns in a clash that will hold significance for both teams. Australia Women, who has consistently been one of the top teams in international cricket, has been producing great amount of performances at field. Australia didn’t find any difficulty in their win over India in the first game with world-class players like, Phoebe Litchfield, Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy delivering superbly fine performances.
After delivering a terrific performance in the first game, Australia Women are set to pose a significant challenge for the Indian team. They are leading the three-match series 1-0 as they would hope to register their series-clinching win going into the second game.
India Women, on the other hand, boast a set of seasoned players and emerging talent, creating a suitable mix of youth and experience. In the first match, India could not enjoy the great service from their skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who lost her wicket for 9 runs. Shafali Verma was gone for 1 while Richa Ghosh scored 21 runs. Middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues scored a valiant knock of 82 runs to guide the team to a fighting score of 282-8 in (50) overs. However, Indian bowlers failed to restrict Australia as they won the game by 6 wickets after reaching 285 in (46.3) overs after losing four wickets.
Pitch report:
As it is known, the pitch at Wankhede was quite helpful for batters in the first ODI with India crossing 250 in their first innings, while Australia chased down the total with full comfort. Chasing is not a heck of a task at Wankhede which will compel the winner at the toss to opt to bowl. So, again batters would hope to make complete use of the favourable conditions to score a volume of runs and make the battle an intense one.
India-W Probable XI: Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Sneh Rana, Amanjot Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Pooja Vastrakar, Renuka Thakur Singh, Saika Ishaque
Australia-W Probable XI: Phoebe Litchfield, Alyssa Healy (c&wk), Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Tahlia McGrath, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, Alana King, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown
