NZ vs PAK: Daryl Mitchell rested, Rachin Ravindra comes in for the fifth T20I

New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell will be missing the fifth and final T20I match against Pakistan, slated to be played on Sunday in Christchurch. The decision by New Zealand to rest Daryl Mitchell from the fifth T20I comes as a part of workload management. Young Rachin Ravindra, who had earlier been rested in order to manage workload, has been incorporated for the fifth and final T20I game.
“Daryl is an important player for us across all three formats and ensuring he’s in the best place to perform in international cricket is vital,” New Zealand coach Gary Stead said.
“Rachin is coming off a period of rest himself and will bring a valuable skill set to the group in this final match as he continues his return to cricket.”
New Zealand, however, will take a final call on the availability of opener Devon Conway for the fifth T20 after he remained on the sidelines in the fourth game due to COVID-19.
