PSL 2024: Gladiators remain unbeaten with victory over Islamabad United

In an another thrilling encounter in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, the Quetta Gladiators continued to maintain their unbeaten run after beating Islamabad United by three wickets in the eighth match of the tournament on Thursday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

Quetta Gladiators showcased their resilience and determination as they secured a comfortable victory. This is the third consecutive victory for Quetta Gladiators in the tournament. Put into bat, Quetta Gladiators restricted Islamabad United for a total of (138) for (9). Abrar Ahmed and Wasim Jr returned with three scalps each to collapse Islamabad’s batting attack. Agha Salman remained the top scorer for Islamabad United with his (33) runs. 

In their chase of the target, Quetta Gladiators made a good start with Jason Roy giving some early blows, scoring 37 off 18. However, Gladiators lost their strong batters Saud Shakeel (2) and Khawaja Nafay (9) very early. However, skipper Rilee Rossouw and Sherfane Rutherford led the fightback, taking the team over the line with their knocks of (34) and (29) respectively. With this defeat, Islamabad United have suffered their second defeat from their three games.
