Schedule confirmed for Australia women's tour of West Indies

Australia’s long-awaited return to the Caribbean will feature an all-white-ball assignment, with the anticipated historic Test match no longer part of the schedule. Cricket West Indies has unveiled the schedule for the tour, which begins on March 19. Instead of a multi-format series, the campaign will now have six limited-overs games as both teams begin preparations for upcoming global tournaments.
The tour opens in St Vincent, where three T20Is will be staged. The action then shifts to St Kitts for a three-match ODI series. The tour will be Australia’s first complete overseas assignment since the retirement of captain Alyssa Healy.
“Our planning this year prioritises maximising white-ball readiness ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. This series forms a central part of that preparation, allowing us to concentrate resources and build combinations," Cricket West Indies’ director of cricket Miles Bascombe said in a release.
“We remain committed to the long-term growth of women’s Test cricket, and discussions are already underway for a future red-ball opportunity, including a highly anticipated series against England in 2027.”
The three T20Is will be played on March 19, 21 and 23, respectively. And the ODIs will be held on March 27, 29 and April 2.
