NZ vs AUS 2nd Test day 2 Stumps: New Zealand counter Australia head-on

New Zealand are gingerly making their way back into the match, closing the day two of the ongoing second and final Test match with a 40-run lead on Saturday at Hagley Oval. Tom Latham (65*), finding his form back, forged a century stand with Kane Williamson (51) to steadily lead New Zealand towards saving the series.
The day two completely belonged to New Zealand with Matt Henry picking up 7-67 to bowl out Australia for (256) in their first innings. At stumps, New Zealand’s second innings’ score stood at 134-2 with Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra unbeaten on (65) and (11) respectively. New Zealand, ahead of the stumps, lost Kane Williamson being snared by Australian skipper Pat Cummins.
Having dominated the day two, New Zealand would aim to get through day three without any shortcomings to store hopes for victory over Australia in a Test match in nearly (12) years.
Earlier, Australia started the day two with their overnight score of 124/4. Australia were guided to some relief by Labuschagne who looked into his elements since the Pakistan series in December-January.
