Multan Sultans didn’t get any partnerships going as they went on to lose their wickets at regular intervals.Valiant efforts from Usman Khan propelled the team to a fighting total of 159/9 in (20), as he scored much-needed 57 runs. Down the line, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 32 runs unbeaten to help the side.

Chasing the target, Islamabad United displayed their batting prowess with a clinical and composed performance from opener Martin Guptill scoring 50 runs. Guptill provided a solid foundation for team’s win. They, meanwhile faced setbacks, but Azam Khan in the middle-order provided 30-run help to keep the side on the path of victory. Down the line, Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah made union with their scores of (19*) and (17) to take the team over the line.

Islamabad United have won the PSL title for the record third time. Imad Wasim was handed Player Of The Match after his glaring performance with both bat and ball. He claimed five wickets and remained unbeaten to ensure team's win.
