Pakistan’s veteran pacer Mohammad Amir has come out of his international retirement in order to make himself available for the upcoming T20I World Cup, to be held in June in West Indies and USA.

Amir called time on his international career in 2021, but has been busy playing T20 leagues across the world. Most recently, he was seen in Pakistan Super League playing for Quetta Gladiators where he capped off the tournament with 10 wickets from nine games at an economy rate of 8.41.

Taking to his social media handle, Amir announced his comeback and availability for Pakistan.

"I still dream to play for Pakistan!” Wrote Amir on X (previously known as twitter).

"Life brings us to the points where at times we have to reconsider our decisions. There have been a few positive discussions between myself and the PCB where they respectfully made me feel that I was needed and can still play for Pakistan after discussing with family and well wishers I declare that I am available to be considered for upcoming T20WC."

"I want [to] do this for my country as it comes before my personal decisions. Donning the green jersey and serving my country has always been, and will continue to be, my greatest aspirations.”
