United States successfully dealt with Bangladesh in the first T20I match on Tuesday, beating them by five wickets with three balls to spare to take 1-0 lead in the three-match series. This was USA’s second victory against the Full Member side in their cricketing history, having thrashed Ireland in 2021 in their first win. After putting Bangladesh to bat in the first match, USA restricted them to (153), with their bowler Steven Taylor returning with the most impressive bowling figures.

Taylor, giving away only nine runs, returned with two wickets from his three overs. Towhid Hridoy top-scored for Bangladesh with his 58-run knock to rescue the team. Chasing the target, USA had a lukewarm start, however they were solid in their chase after Steven Taylor and Andries Gous scored (28) and (23) respectively.

Lower the order, Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh remained unbeaten with their scores of (34) and (33) respectively to take the team over the line. Now, heading into the second game, to be played on Thursday at Prairie View Cricket Complex, USA will look to maintain their dominance to secure the series win.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will take the field with a point to prove in order to save the series. Rich in talent, Bangladesh recorded a stunning defeat in the first game. Replete with seasoned players, Bangladesh would hope to not lose the confidence and build their authority over USA.

USA Probable XI: Monank Patel (c&wk), Steven Taylor, Aaron Jones, Andries Gous, Corey Anderson, Nitish Kumar, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh, Jasdeep Singh, Nosthush Kenjige, Saurabh Netravalkar

Bangladesh Probable XI: Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali (wk), Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam
