England bowler served three-month ban over betting

England bowler Brydon Carse has been handed a 16-month ban, 13 of those 16 months suspended for two years, after being found guilty of breaching cricket’s anti-corruption rules by placing 303 bets on several cricket games during the period between 2017 and 2019. Following this, he will be eligible to play cricket from August 28, 2024.
“We take these matters extremely seriously and do not condone any form of anti-corruption breach in cricket. We support the Cricket Regulator’s decision and their consideration of the mitigating factors in Brydon’s case. He has co-operated and shown remorse for his actions,” said ECB (England Cricket Board) in a statement.
“We are satisfied that Brydon has shown growth in the five years since this breach and has demonstrated a greater understanding of his responsibilities. We are hopeful that his case can serve as an educational example for other cricketers.”
Brydon Carse has made 14 and 13 appearances for England in ODIs and T20Is respectively. He last played for England in December 2023.
