Australia and Pakistan are once again set to face off in the second ODI of their ongoing three-match series on Friday at Adelaide Oval. With the hosts, Australia, holding a 1-0 lead after having a convincing victory in the first encounter, second ODI becomes incredibly crucial.  As they gear up to head into the second encounter, both teams would seek to assert their dominance and take control of the series with just two games remaining.

The opening match of the series saw Australia edge out Pakistan in a closely contested affair. Australia's top batters failed in their chase, but it was captain Pat Cummins, who guided the side to victory with his crucial 32-run knock. With the series now at 1-0, Australia will be looking to extend their lead and take a commanding 2-0 advantage, which would give them a series win with one match still to play.

Pakistan, despite their defeat in the first ODI, showed plenty of promise, especially in the bowling department, with Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi taking crucial wickets. In the batting order, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan took the side to a sizeable total after their other batters failed to deliver. The team will be keen to bounce back, with a focus on building partnerships and putting up a more substantial total. Pakistan will be determined to level the series, making it a must-win match for themselves.
