AUS vs IND 4th Test Day 2 Stumps: The dramatic collapse launches India into danger

Australia turned the game in their favour by claiming the most important wickets of Virat Kohli (32) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (82) on day two of the ongoing Boxing Day Test in Melbourne on Friday. Earlier in the day, India made splendid batting efforts, with Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal playing the most composed innings to guide India out of trouble, but the fall of these two batters at regular intervals put India into distress.

The horrible mix-up and Kohli's denial to run put an end to Yashavi's incandescent knock. He was looking composed and on course for his second century of the series but all ended in disappointment for him, with Pat Cummins and Alex Carey doing the rest of the work to remove him. Nightwatchman Akash Depp, meanwhile, negotiated 13 deliveries for no run before losing his wicket to dangerous Boland as India continued to experience difficult times.

Scott Boland grabbed the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli, who again tinkered with the outside off delivery, which has been his nemesis in recent times. Both Jaiswal and Kohli put on a 102-run partnership to revive India's innings but Kohli's wicket triggered the sudden collapse of India's batting lineup. Australia, meanwhile, are on top, with India trailing by 310 runs. India finish day two with (164) on board for the loss of five wickets.

Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are unbeaten on (6) and (4), but they both have huge task of leading India's fightback on day three. Earlier, Auustralia were powered to a gigantic total of (474) with the help of Steve Smith's monumental ton. Smith amassed (140 off 197) to lift the side to a competitive total.
