"The best fast bowler across all three formats": Former Australian skipper applauds Bumrah

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has heaped praise on Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah, who recently delivered a stunning performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Bumrah's exceptional bowling performance proved to be a thorn in Australia's side, leaving the hosts frustrated as he spearheaded India’s attack with remarkable intensity.

Bumrah emerged as the highest wicket-taker of the series, reaffirming his status as one of the most dangerous bowlers.

"The thing I've thought about Bumrah, after the series finished and I was sitting and thinking about his performances, I actually think he's the best fast bowler ever across all three formats," Clarke told ESPN's Around The Wicket.

"I know a lot of great fast bowlers, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath, didn't get to play T20 cricket, so I'm not talking about those guys, but in regards to anyone who has played all three formats, I think he might be the best ever. He's actually that good in any conditions, that's what makes him great; any conditions, any format, this guy's a freak."

Bumrah had bowled India to a 295-run victory over Australia in the first Test, claiming eight wickets. Despite leading the series 1-0, India suffered defeats in the remaining games but Bumrah's performance was incredibly amazing. He finished the series with 32 wickets. He could not bowl in the Sydney Test after experiencing back spasms, otherwise the result might have been different.

"I reckon India were probably 20 runs short [in Sydney]. I reckon a 180 lead, with Bumrah in the team, I think India are home. I think Bumrah is that good… he's so much better than the other bowlers they had in the team."
