Indian left-arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma has become the second bowler to clinch a hat-trick at the U19 Women’s T20I World Cup. She reached the landmark achievement on Tuesday during the Group A match between India and Malaysia. She claimed the figures 5-5 from the stipulated four overs she bowled.

One of her four overs also went maiden. Vaishnavi Sharma reached the milestone in the 14th over of Malaysia's innings. She nabbed the wickets of Nur Ain Binti Roslan, Nur Isma Dania and Siti Nazwah to bag the monumental record. She has now become the first Indian bowler to achieve this milestone.

The first-ever hat-trick in women’s U19 T20I World Cup was claimed by South Africa allrounder Madison Landsman in 2023. She achieved this huge record during South Africa’s group D match against Scotland. Meanwhile, India beat Malaysia by 10 wickets after chasing a 32-run target in 2.5 overs.
