Afghanistan’s terrific spinner AM Ghazanfar out of Champions Trophy

Afghanistan’s right-arm spinner AM Ghazanfar has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to an injury. AM Ghazanfar, a mystery spinner, has suffered a fracture in his L4 vertebra, owing to which he will not be available for Afghanistan in their campaign at the Champions Trophy. 

Left-arm spinner Nangeyalia Kharote who was among the reserved players, has been named in the squad as a replacement for Ghazanfar. Not only Champions Trophy,  AM Ghazanfar will also be out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Ghazanfar has played 11 ODIs for Pakistan, claiming 21 wickets. 

"AM Ghazanfar, has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy due to a fracture in the L4 vertebra, specifically in the left pars interarticularis." ACB said in statement on Wednesday.

"He (Ghazanfar) sustained the injury during Afghanistan's recently held tour Zimbabwe, and will be sidelined for a minimum of four months and will remain under treatment during this period," it added.
