“He will score a century in 60 balls”: Yuvraj Singh makes a bold prediction about Rohit Sharma ahead of Pakistan showdown

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has made a bold prediction ahead of India’s blockbuster clash against Pakistan in the ongoing Champions Trophy. The match, which is slated to be played on Sunday in Dubai, is a do-or-die battle for both sides in order to consolidate their position moving ahead in the tournament. Yuvraj Singh believes that Indian skipper will score a century off 60 deliveries in the much-anticipated match.

His prediction comes off the back of Rohit’s impressive form in India’s Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh, where Rohit Sharma blasted a quickfire 41 runs off 36 balls. His fiery knock was laced with seven boundaries, setting the tone for India’s chase.

"Rohit Sharma, whether in form or out of form, it doesn’t matter to me. I would always back my match-winners. In ODI cricket, especially in white-ball formats, he has been India’s biggest match-winner as a batsman, alongside Virat Kohli. If Rohit is struggling but still gets runs, that’s dangerous for the opposition," Yuvraj said on JioHotstar.

"If he’s in form, he will score a century in 60 balls. That’s his quality—once he gets going, he’s not just hitting fours; he’s clearing the ropes with sixes. He is also one of the best players of the short ball. Even if someone bowls at 145-150 kmph, Rohit has the ability to hook it effortlessly. His strike rate is always between 120-140, and on his day, he can single-handedly win you the game,” he said.

Rohit Sharma carries a tremendous record against Pakistan in ODIs, having scored 873 runs in 19 ODIs at an average of 51.35 and a strike rate of 92.38. He has two centuries and eight half-centuries. Meanwhile, with a balanced squad, India are being seen as one of the front-runners for the Champions Trophy title
