Azmatullah Omarzai tops the ODI allrounder rankings

Afghanistan allrounder Azmatullah Omarzai has risen to the top of the ICC all-rounder ODI rankings, displacing his teammate Mohammad Nabi. Omarzai’s remarkable consistency with both bat and ball in the Champions Trophy has earned him the number one spot. He took seven wickets from three games, including a match-winning 5 for 58 against England. He also scored 126 runs at an average of 42.00 and a strike rate of 104.13. 

India’s Virat Kohli also made some gains, moving up one spot to fourth position following his Player of the Match performance in the semi-final against Australia, where he scored 84. He had also smacked an unbeaten 100 during India’s match against Pakistan to guide the side to a dominant win. Indian opener Shubman Gill continues to remain on top of the batting rankings, followed by Babar Azam on second. Heinrich Klaasen is sitting at No. 3. Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has slipped two places to the fifth position.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana retains the top spot with 680 points, while South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj and New Zealand’s Matt Henry have risen to second and third spots respectively. Indian veteran pacer Mohammed Shami has also improved his rankings to reach the 11th position.
