India name squad for tri-series in Sri Lanka

India women have named their squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka, with Kashvee Gautam, N Shree Charani and Shuchi Upadhyay receiving their maiden national call-ups. The series also involves South Africa. Notably, Harmanpreet Kaur is back to lead the side after missing the ODI series against Ireland at home earlier this year. For the three-match ODI series against Ireland, Harmanpreet Kaur had been rested. 

Sneh Rana and wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia are also back in the squad for tri-series. Meanwhile, Renuka Singh Thakur and Titas Sadhu weren’t considered for selection due to injuries. The tri-series will begin on April 27 with the first game between India and Sri Lanka Women on April 27 in Colombo.
