Glenn Phillips to miss the remainder of IPL with groin injury

New Zealand allrounder Glenn Phillips has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League with a groin injury. Phillips copped the injury while fielding in Gujarat Titans' game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6. Phillips, who didn’t play any game for the side, was on as a substitute fielder during GT’s game against SRH.
According to an official statement from the franchise “Glenn Phillips has returned to New Zealand following a groin injury he sustained during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6. Gujarat Titans wish Glenn a speedy recovery.”
He picked up the injury in the last over of the powerplay of the SRH’s innings. Phillips, who was standing at the point, pursued a gently pushed shot from Ishan Kishan. However, while throwing the ball back, he seemed to overstretch his groin, which forced him to collapse on the ground. He was visibly in a lot of pain.
