Sri Lanka name squad for T20I assignment against Zimbabwe; key all-rounder left out

Sri Lanka have left out key all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga from their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The latest development puts Hasaranga's participation in the upcoming Asia Cup in jeopardy. Charitha Asalanka will lead the side with senior players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Nuwanidu Fernando, and Kamindu Mendis featuring in the 17-member squad. Matheesha Pathirana also finds his place in the squad after being left out of the ODIs that precede the T20Is. The two-match ODI series will be played from August 29, with the first match in Harare. The second ODI will be played on August 31. Meanwhile, the T20Is will be held on September 3, 6 and 7, respectively. All ODIs and T20Is will be played in Harare.
