Ireland have named a 14-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against England, with batter and wicketkeeper Ben Calitz being called up for the first time. The 23-year-old young gun could get an opportunity to make his debut. Meanwhile, Ireland will be missing the services of Josh Little, Mark Adair, and Fionn Hand. But the squad witnesses the return of Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher, and Craig Young. Meanwhile, all three T20Is will be held in Dublin on 17 September, 19 September and 21 September, respectively. This will be the first time Ireland are meeting England in a T20I series on home soil.

Ireland's national men's selector, Andrew White, said the series is crucial as the T20I World Cup is just six months away.

“While every match against England is a special occasion, this series takes on extra importance given we are less than six months out from the next T20 World Cup," he said.

“These matches against England offer us an opportunity to test ourselves against one of the world’s best teams as we build-up to that tournament,” he added.

Ireland squad: Paul Stirling (c), Ross Adair, Ben Calitz, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Graham Hume, Matthew Humphreys, Barry McCarthy, Jordan Neill, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Ben White, Craig Young
