"I try to make the most probable decision": Shubman Gill on leading India

Young star Shubman Gill has made an impressive start to his tenure as India’s Test captain, leading the team to a 2-0 series victory over the West Indies. Following the seven-wicket win in the second Test on Tuesday in New Delhi, Gill acknowledged the growing comfort he’s finding in his new role, saying he is "kind of getting used to it [the experience]."
"Definitely, it's a really big honour. Yeah, I would say I am getting used to managing all the players. Leading this team is a great honour. It's about taking the right options in the given situation. I try to make the most probable decision in the given situation that we are in. Sometimes you have to take some bold decisions; that X-factor depending on which player can get you certain runs or get you those wickets," Gill said he in the presentation ceremony.
After securing a commanding 270-run first-innings lead, India made the bold decision to enforce the follow-on. After imposing a follow-on, Indian bowlers bowled West Indies out for 390, which resulted in a modest 121-run target for India.
"We were around 300 runs ahead, and the wicket was quite dead, and we thought even if we scored 500 runs, we have to get six or seven wickets on day five it would be a tough day for us," Gill said.
Under Gill's captaincy, India have secured four wins in seven Tests. Gill, meanwhile, was also impressive with the bat during the series, smashing a hundred and fifty in the two matches. He explained about his role as a batter and a captain.
"Definitely, I'm going out there to bat. Batting is something that I've grown up doing since I was 3 or 4 years old. So when I go out there (to bat), I just want to make decisions as a batsman."
"The one thing that you always strive for is how can you make your team win a match. And as a batsman, when I'm going out there, that's the only thought that I have," he added.
